The City of Ontario has released an updated Draft Amendment to the 2021–2029 Housing Element for public review.

In accordance with California Government Code Section 65585(b)(1)(A), revisions to a Housing Element must be made available for public review prior to submittal to HCD.

The City has prepared an updated Draft Housing Element Amendment in response to comments received from the public and the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) regarding the March 2026 draft amendment. The June 2026 draft includes minor corrections to the Housing Resources chapter, a detailed sites inventory organized by Assessor's Parcel Number (APN), revisions to Housing Program 13, and updates to the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) analysis and related supporting information.

Hearing Draft Housing Element Technical Report Amendments (June 2026)

*To assist the public in reviewing revisions to Chapter 5 of the Housing Element Technical Report, Attachment 1 to the Hearing Draft Housing Element Technical Report Amendments provides a redline comparison showing changes made between the March 2026 Public Review Draft and the June 2026 Hearing Draft.

Public Review Period:

The public review period will be open from June 5, 2026, through June 12, 2026, with comments due by 5:00 p.m. on June 12, 2026. Comments received during this period will be considered by the City Council prior to resubmittal of the updated Housing Element Technical Report Amendment to HCD.

Comments may be submitted as follows:
